Summertime is all fun, but I'm hitting a point where I'm ready to be done.

I love summer, but I'm a total fall-weather kind of person. Especially this year, I'm hitting a point where I'm like, "OK, I'm ready for pumpkin spice lattes, Halloween, and apple cider donuts."

Slowly, one by one, things have been annoying me. And yes, I'm blaming summertime for these. Maybe it's the weather, but I'm getting a little heated!

So... if you're in the same boat as me, I'd like to take a moment to rant and delve into summertime sadness.

Heat

The heat this year has truly been awful. Everywhere I go, I need to make sure I have deodorant, a hair tie and water so that I can survive.

Sure, I like that it means I'm getting tanner, but it's not enough for me to enjoy feeling like I'm living in an overly humid wave of heat. Also, I hate what it does to my electric bill.

Bugs

The bugs this year are beyond insane. The cicadas we had were horrifying, earwigs are everywhere and I got the first bug bite I've had in years just last week. I've had it!

I hate having to worry about ticks every time I go on a hike. It's minor, but it pains me having to wear bug spray and shower it off every day.

The cold could come to kill the bugs off any day now.

Road Construction

It wouldn't be summertime in the 815 without half the roads being closed. I hate having to take detours that add 10 minutes to my drive.

I'm totally sure it's with good reason, believe me some of the roads need help. But I'm ready to take less detours and not worry about people's crazy summer driving.

Busy Schedules

I don't know about you, but this has been the busiest summer of my life. Concerts, events, work trips, weddings, family vacations... on top of regular life things. Don't get me wrong, I love the hustle and chaos, but I'm so burnt out right now.

I'd give anything for a crisp, chilly fall day indoors watching reality TV and having wine.

Rant over. I'm ready for the fall.

And yes, I'm ready for pumpkin spice lattes too. They're delicious.
