Local coffee shops are one of my absolute favorite spots on the planet. The intimate atmosphere and delicious smells can make my day ten times better. Rockford especially has some fun ones with fun themes, cozy vibes and coffee that tastes like it was brewed in Heaven.

I'll openly admit to being a coffee lover -- I have a strict "don't speak to me til I've had at least two cups" rule in my household. The smell and flavor are just food for my soul.

One thing I LOVE about Rockford is the local coffee scene. Yes, we have the big brands, but the local spots go above and beyond to create a memorable experience while you're there.

My Cafe Amore - 125 E State Street Suite E, Cherry Valley, IL

Coffee served in a literal bag isn't something you experience every day. This place looks like Princess Belle's dream because it's also filled with books.

The building looks immaculate, the staff is so sweet and they serve coffee that hits the spot. As a coffee and book lover, this place is Heaven on Earth to me!

Velvet Robot Coffee Lab - 1292 S Alpine Road, Rockford, IL

The staff in here is so much fun and some genuinely nice people. I've been in there a couple of times and they already know my name! They always serve fun seasonal drinks and foods for everyone to try.

The vibes in this place are super retro too, which is another reason this spot is such a staple in the community.

Inzombia Coffee - 306 E State Street, Rockford, IL

When I say this place's environment cannot be replicated, I mean it. There are so many WWE Wrestlers in there that it looks like my little brother's childhood bedroom. Personally, I love where this shop is located because it's in the heart of downtown for you to walk around.

My tradition is to grab a coffee here right before any parade! Regardless if you like coffee, you gotta go just to see the place. It's so cool that sometimes a nerd like me doesn't feel cool enough to be in there.
