3 Hilarious Reasons Not To Move To Illinois
Illinois has many things to enjoy, however, some things would make the state better. And to anyone planning on moving to the Land of Lincoln, take this as your heads up.
I've had a lot of fun and met many amazing people while living here. I can honestly say I'm enjoying life a lot more at the moment, and a big reason is the abundant amount of good people and opportunities.
However, there are some reasons why I would recommend not living here. And mind you, these are all my personal opinions. I came up with these based on experience.
Before I even start, this list is all in good fun. It's meant to be a playful joke that unites us who live here. I promise none of this is intended to be negative.
Now, let's get into the fun!
3 Big Reasons Not To Move To Illinois
I'll start with one you've heard me say before.
The Expensive and Annoying Tollways
One trip to Chicago cost me $30. Let that sink in. 30 frickin' dollars!
Call me frugal, but that's too much. The tollway ticket alone cost more than the CTA ticket and lunch I had in the Windy City. How is that even possible? I have no idea. But it's true.
From here on out, I don't care how much longer I have to drive. I'm taking all routes that avoid them.

No In-N-Out
I recently got back from vacation and had In-N-Out for the first time, and I completely understand the hype!
I don't even eat meat, but their grilled cheese was ah-ma-zing! Although their fries were maybe a 4/10. But still, the food was great!
I'm hoping the chain makes its way to the Midwest soon.
No Fun Gas Stations Like Kwik Star or Buc-ee's
I grew up loving Kwik Star (most people call it Kwik Trip here.) When I tell you, as a kid I'd beg my mom for donuts from there for breakfast haha!
There's just something fun about gas stations like Buc-ees or Kwik Star, and someday I hope they make their way here. Getting rewards on gas for my car from there always makes me feel a little bit better about how much the tank actually cost haha.
What are some things you wish Illinois had? OR what are some things people should know before moving here! I'm happy to make another fun list with your answers!
