
Rockford Police Arrest 4 in Separate Weekend Gun Incidents
Rockford Police arrested four men during two separate gun-related traffic stops on May 3, recovering loaded weapons and filing felony charges.
Midnight Traffic Stop Leads to Gun Recovery
According to the Rockford PD press release, SCOPE officers observed a suspicious vehicle with three individuals inside just after midnight on Saturday (5/3) in the 1300 block of S. Main Street.
Once officers initiated the traffic stop, they learned that two occupants had already exited the vehicle. Those two individuals were located in the parking lot of South Main Food & Liquor.

Officers observed 23-year-old Christian Rodriguez of Rockford emerging from a nearby wooded area, and with assistance from an RPD K-9 unit, were able to locate a handgun from the same wooded area.
Rodriguez was taken into custody, and at the time this story was published, he was lodged in the Winnebago County Jail facing the following charges:
- Aggravated Unlawful Possession of a Weapon
- Unlawful Use of a Weapon by a Felon
- No Valid FOID
Early Morning Stop Yields More Firearms
Later on Saturday morning at approximately 3:45 am, a Rockford Police officer conducted another traffic stop in the 200 block of Y Boulevard. The stop involved a vehicle with three occupants, in which officers recovered two loaded handguns.
20-year-old Darreon Love and 19-year-old Isiah Holloway, both of Rockford, were arrested at the scene.
Each has been charged with Aggravated Unlawful Possession of a Weapon and No Valid FOID, according to the RPD report.
