History is being made in the small town of Pecatonica, Illinois thanks to 13 awesome athletes and the coaches that guide them.

Indian Pride in Pecatonica

I have lived in Pecatonica for over 3 years now, and I fall a little more in love with this small town every single day.

The people are friendly, my kids are thriving here, and most importantly, it is a supportive and caring community that I feel blessed to be a part of.

Right now the entire village feels electric thanks to the Pecatonica Lady Indians Varsity Basketball Team who just made school history as the first girls basketball team to make it to the 1A IHSA Girls’ State Tournament!

I have never been one to get into sports, (except when my children are playing), but right now I am ALL IN on watching these young women play basketball and cheering them on to go all the way!

A Thank You to Pecatonica Lady Indians Basketball

While the talent of the 2024-2025 Lady Indians Basketball team may be incredible and watching them play is exciting, what I really love most if how they have inspired my two daughters.

Both of my daughters play youth basketball in Pecatonica, and have absolutely fallen in love with the game this season thanks to watching the Lady Indians play.

To my girls, these girls are cooler than Taylor Swift.

Those young women are not only talented, hard working athletes, but they are also honor roll students who have always shown kindness to young kids who idolize them, and for that I am incredibly thankful.

Lady Indians, thank you for making this entire town proud! I saw one community member refer to you as "legends" last night, and they weren't wrong! Good luck this weekend, we'll be cheering for you!
