A lucky Rockford woman recently turned a $2 lottery ticket into a one million dollar payday, but how she chose to stay anonymous is the best part of this story.

Illinois Lottery Dreams

Do you play the lottery? I never do, (minus the handful of tickets we buy for stocking stuffers at Christmas), because I NEVER win anything and I HATE throwing away money. I know my big lottery win dreams will never come true if I never buy a ticket, but I just can't help but feel the odds are never in my favor.

Today I read a story that makes my want to adjust my way of thinking.

Rockford Woman Wins One Million Dollar Illinois Lottery Jackpot

On April 3, 2025 one Rockford woman bought a $2 iLottery ticket and then received the shock of her life when she received an email the next day saying she won!

This woman (who admittedly "never wins anything"),  told mystateline.com;

I got an email saying I’d won, and I figured that I’d won back the $2 that I had spent on the ticket. And I did win back my two dollars… but imagine my surprise when I realized I’d also won $1 million, too!

So, what is the name of Rockford's newest millionaire? I'll never tell...because I can't!

I literally laughed out loud when I saw this picture posted on Illinois Lottery's Facebook...

Lottery winners choosing to stay anonymous is nothing new in Illinois, (because the law says you are able to for any prizes won over $250,000), but I don't think I've seen anyone do it in such an adorably hilarious as Rockford's Ms. Lucky Lotto Millionaire did!

Congratulations, and I hope you have a blast spending all that lucky cash! Maybe I'll go buy a lottery ticket now...just in case.
