Help This Dog Abandoned at Belvidere’s Hammertime Park Find a Forever Home

After nearly two months of searching, the two heartless individuals who abandoned a staggering 54 dogs at Hammertime Unleashed Dog Park in Belvidere, Illinois, on July 15, 2024, have finally been located and arrested.

According to a statement from the Boone County Sheriff's Office and the Huntley Police Department, 61 year old Concepcion Rodriguez and 54 year old and Bruce Walla of Huntley, IL, were arrested on September 6, 2024 on multiple charges of animal cruelty.

The Boone County Sheriff's Office press release says search warrants of their Huntley home were issued on Thursday July 3, 2024, and " the results of the search indicated probable cause had been established for the offense of Cruelty to Animals at the residence on Wheatlands Way."

Having the two evil individuals responsible for neglecting so many precious animals finally getting caught should be the happy ending for this sad and tragic story, BUT we're not quite there yet. Here's why...

One Of the Dogs Abandoned at Hammertime Park Still Needs a Home

After all the abandoned dogs were brought to rescues throughout Illinois, many of them found homes as soon as they were ready for adoption, but one of them named Margot is still waiting at PAWS Humane Society in Rockford.

I know what you're thinking; "that dog is ADORABLE, how has she not been adopted yet?!?" Well, the answer is simple; Margot needs a very special person who has the time and patience to help her heal and learn what love is.

(My heart is absolutely breaking right now).

Last month I had to say goodbye to my Shih-poo Brooks who I loved and adored for over 14 years, and I would love to give Margot the home she so richly deserves. Sadly though, I have young kids and other dogs, so I am not Margot's perfect match. Are you? Please help her if you are able to.
