A former Rockford IceHogs and Stanley Cup-winning Chicago Blackhawks player has made catching monster fish his off-season hobby.

Former Rockford IceHogs & Chicago Blackhawks Player Has The Fishing Touch

Rockford has become quite the hockey town. The IceHogs have an amazing history of players who have moved on to the NHL and achieved successful professional careers. The list of former players is pretty impressive.

One of those former players is Nick Leddy. He was drafted in the 1st round. Leddy spent time between Rockford and Chicago. He won a Stanley Cup Championship in 2013 before moving on to the New York Islanders.

I've been lucky enough to have met many Rockford IceHogs players through the years. Many of them are from Canada. During the off-season, several of them enjoy fishing. I guess it's a good way to relax after a long season.

I'm not really into fishing. It's not my thing because I just don't have the patience. I do believe going after monster fish could be pretty darn exciting and even a little scary. I've seen the show a handful of times. Nick Leddy is a big fan of fishing for monster fish and has been successful in doing it.

His fish of choice is sturgeon. Most fisherman can go their whole life without catching the big one. Leddy has done it three times which is unreal. I'm talking over ten feet long. That's bigger than a moose or polar bear. Could you imagine reeling that into the boat?
