Remains of Missing Illinois Police Chief Discovered in Storage Unit

Human remains in an Illinois storage unit have finally been identified.

Sometimes I can't believe some of the stories I see on the internet.  When you think you have heard it all, you see a story that will shock you to your core.

Remains of Missing Illinois Police Chief Discovered in Storage Unit

After complaints about a strong odor coming from the unit at Roberts Self Storage in Maquon Village, police made a visit to investigate.  They discovered the remains of Richard Young, former Police Chief of Maquon Village in Illinois.

He had been missing for months and nobody had any leads to where he could've been.

Richard was in a relationship with a woman named Marcy Oglesby for over 20 years.  She initially told police that the smell coming from her storage unit was a dead opossum, but authorities found a large box with Richard Young's body inside.

She has been charged with concealment of death and first-degree murder.  Though, Marcy plead not guilty.

"It’s believed that Young’s body was put in the storage facility between Oct. 15, 2021, and Dec. 25, 2021, KWQC" reported. [kwqc]

This is wild.  It's not clear how he actually died, but a toxicology report showed a high level of a toxic chemical commonly found in eyedrops was found in Richard's system.

Richard Young served the community for over 30 years.

It's insane that there are people in this world who do crimes like this.  We live among monsters and it should not be normal to hear about horrific deaths like this every day.  We shouldn't be afraid to live our lives, but with news like this... it's hard not to.
