Top Two Hilarious Illinois License Plate Rejections of 2024

Internet trends have a heavy influence on kids these days, and it really shows after reading the list of Illinois' most rejected license plate requests in 2024.

It was always the rich kids who seemed to have custom license plates when I was in high school. I always wanted one and my parents said, "Nope, save your money. You don't need it!" Now, I totally understand why they didn't want me to do it, so I didn't end up on the most rejected license plate list for the world to see.  Thanks mom and dad!

Obviously, if you want a custom license plate in Illinois you have to go through a few hoops to get it approved or denied.

According to Secretary of State, Alexi Giannoulias,

"Illinoisans consistently display a great deal of creativity when choosing their customized license plates, but the plates that hit the road must meet the standards of good taste and decency." [fox26]

He also stated that their team is "well-versed in lecherous language and sneaky swearing, all of which are rejected and placed on our permanent prohibited list."

Illinois drivers can pay either $94 for a custom plate that's ONLY letters and $47 for a mix of custom letters and numbers.  They won't always get accepted, though!

After the Illinois Secretary of State’s Office received over 60,000 requests for custom plates, about 330 were rejected for "inflammatory or offensive nature".
