According to the FDA, the bacteria can cause serious (or even fatal) infections, especially in children, older adults, and anyone with weak immune systems. Even healthy adults can fall ill and experience unpleasant symptoms like diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and stomach pain. In really rare cases, it can be so severe that it enters the bloodstream.
The recalled chocolate bars come in multiple flavors: Earl Grey, Lavendar Rose, Mango Chili, Mint Leaf, Mixed Berry, Mulberry Fennel, Pecan Date, and Pure Dark Minis. If you've ordered specialty chocolate recently, double-check your chocolate.
These were all reportedly sold online and a handful of retailers across the United States. As of now, no illnesses have been reported, which is good. But, it's still a reminder of how quickly food recalls can happen and why checking your pantry is extremely important.

If you believe you've purchased any affected Spring & Mulberry chocolate bars, the FDA suggest throwing them away immediately or contacting the company for a refund. It might look fine and smell good still, but it's not worth the risk.
