Close Call: Driver Pulls The Dumbest Move In Rockford [VIDEO]

If I could describe Rockford drivers in a single video, this would be the one.

Before we get to the video, I need to explain how I almost ended up t-boning someone on North 2nd Street for this entire video to make sense to you.

I was headed southbound on 2nd Street, coming off the Spring Creek Road ramp, and needed to stay in the right lane for another mile.  You know where the Symbol is at Sinnissippi Park, right?  There's an entrance/exit to a parking lot right there, and someone was about to pull out of it.  So, I thought.

In my mind, I'm telling myself, "This guy is inching too close into the street and not accelerating.  What? Why?"  Then, as I'm about to pass that entrance, he pulls out and brakes right in the middle of the lane.  I have less than 10 seconds to react, switch lanes, avoid t-boning him, and sideswiping anyone in the lane to my left.

I was swearing and honking, so I muted my Dash Cam video.  Plus, my horn has the worst sound on the planet.  Here's the entire encounter.

Not sure if the driver knew he was pulled out so far into the street, but he definitely didn't care that I was honking and coming at him full speed.

This is a perfect example of so many drivers in Rockford.  Nobody pays attention, people drive reckless, and half the time people are making up their own rules on the road.  It's really infuriating.

To whoever this guy is, thanks for making it on my weekly "bad drivers" list.
