Shopping malls around the nation have faced plenty of challenges over the last decade. Between the rise of online shopping, changing consumer habits, and declining customers, many traditional malls have struggled to stay relevant. Outlet malls, however, continue to prove they're a different story.

That's especially true in the Chicago area, where the Fashion Outlets of Chicago in Rosemont has just been named the number-one outlet mall in America by USA Today's 2026 10Best Readers' Choice Awards. The ranking was determined after a panel of experts selected nominees and readers from across the country cast votes for their favorites.
