3 Disgusting Pests To Lookout For in Illinois This Fall
While summer is the worst for bugs, fall in Illinois has its own set of pests that we need to watch out for.
This year has been seriously buggy in my opinion.. and I'm not the type of girl that enjoys bugs. It's also one of the reasons I prefer cooler weather over heat and humidity.
However, it's no lie that each season brings its own range of unwanted visitors. While summer may be ready to close out, keep your eyes open for this next round of annoying insects coming.
Annoying & Common Pests You'll See During Fall Time in Illinois
I'll start with the most obvious one that we see all too often here.
Boxelder Bugs
I've already started to see these guys swarming in!
As a kid, I always used to admire the orangey-red color that they have to them. But now, since so many of them have flown at my head, I am over them.
It may just be me, but I swear these bugs have a smell to them too.

Wasps
When I say I loathe these guys, I mean it.
I went my whole life without being stung. Then, within the first year after moving here, I did for the first time. And yes, I am holding a grudge.
According to the Illinois DNR, wasps can become more aggressive in the fall because they're preparing for winter. YAY for us, right?
Stink Bugs
*knock on wood* I have yet to run into one of these.
These guys love crops, which is why most people see them in the fall. I haven't seen them out yet like I have the other two, but I know it's only a matter of time.
Despite the new wave of bugs coming, I am SO ready for fall! Rockford might just be one of the BEST places to experience fall. If you don't believe me, check out this list below!
