Cash App Settlement Could Leave Many Illinoisans Entitled To Some Money
A recent settlement involving Cash App could leave many people in Illinois entitled to some money.
I use applications like Cash App almost weekly. It's truly made transactions so much easier, but sometimes it gets a little scary how much trust we put into these companies regarding our money.
Illinois is no stranger to lawsuits surrounding major brands like this. Here is the most recent one to be aware of.
Cash App Settlement - How To Find Out if You're Entitled To Money
According to USA TODAY, the app has been sued by plaintiffs due to their failure to secure consumer information. This is because, in December of 2021, they released personally identifiable information of 8.2 million current and former users.
Any user who has had an account between August 23, 2018, and August 20, 2024 should check and see if they qualify.
I will say that there are some complications even I ran into while trying to find out if I qualify. Mine told me I would've been contacted. It also informed me that there are 3 different types of claims...
- Out-of-Pocket Losses
- Lost Time
- Transaction Losses
How Do I Submit a Claim in the Cash App Settlement?
A key piece of information - you must submit the completed form for the claim by November 18, 2024, for consideration!
If you qualify, you can fill out a claim RIGHT HERE.
Regardless if you haven't been contacted, it's worth the time to double-check. Be sure to tell your friends who use the application too!
